However, we cannot guarantee that multiple sets of ashes will produce drastically different-colored settings. No color is added to the ashes during the setting process to create a specific color or hue. Only a very small amount of ashes is used in the setting process; the exact amount needed depends on the size and depth of the piece's setting, but for simplicity's sake, a teaspoon of ashes will suffice for most orders.
